Obituary for Matthew Richard "Matt" Rider Sr.
Matthew “Matt” Richard Rider, Sr., 31, husband of Megan Hays Rider, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his home.
Born October 12, 1987, in Plattsburgh, NY, he was a son of Timothy R. Rider and Laura J. Bunning Rider. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and was employed by the Eaton Corporation.
Survivors include his wife; parents of Sumter; two children, Kaiden Rider and Matthew R. Rider, Jr.; a sister, Kayla Duncan (Chase) of Ninety-Six; a brother, Jonathan “J.T.” Rider (fiancé, Anna Dewey) of New York City, NY; paternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Rider of Englewood, FL; and maternal grandmother, Alice Bunning of Venice, FL.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Bunning, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Reed and the Rev. Allen Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin McKiever, Keith Oakley, Trevor Jahnke, Michael Richardson, B.J. Hays, and Walt Driggers.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday at Westside Baptist Church and other times at the home of his parents, 3065 Ashlyn Way.
