Obituary for Harrell Samuel Jackson

Harrell Jackson, 91, beloved husband of Anna Hawkins Jackson, died peacefully Monday, January 14, 2019.

Born in 1927, in Florence County, he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Locklair Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired lifelong farmer. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Anna, for 69 years. He was part of the Christian Home Fellowship.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Lewis Jackson (Eva Laine); two sisters, Mary Anne Jackson and Doris McMahon all of Sumter; sons, Alan Jackson, Stanley Jackson, Gene Jackson, and Mark Jackson all of Ashwood; a daughter, Jewel Gardner of Sumter; daughter-in-law, Ena Marie Helms Jackson of Ashwood; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Jackson; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Ashwood Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
