Giroud McDaniel, 84, husband of the late Sue Isbell McDaniel, died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Covenant Place.

Born March 9, 1934, in Edgefield County, he was a son of the late Gordon V. McDaniel and the late Lillian Holmes McDaniel. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 28 years of service and was a Cold War and Vietnam War veteran. He also retired from Kimbrell’s Furniture after 14 years of service. He was a member of Springbank Baptist Church.

Survivors include two children, Philip A. McDaniel of Columbia and Janet L. Hoffman (Jerry) of Sumter; and a sister, Frances McDaniel Ellenburg of Ninety Six.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 5481 Meadow Dr.
