Debra Ann Ardis, 62, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born July 17, 1955 in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Norman E. Ardis, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Davis Ardis. Ms. Ardis was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She retired from the City of Sumter Police Department after more than twenty-one years of dedicated service to the community.

Survivors include a brother, Norman Ardis (Margaret) of Sumter; two sisters, Jean Ardis Logan (Michael) of Lynchburg, and Betty Ardis Dannhardt of Lake Wells, Florida; and two nieces, Jodie Richardson (Joey) of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and Mandy M. Logan-Hicks of Lynchburg.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James A. “Jimmy” Ardis, and W. Richard “Ricky” Ardis.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.

The Sumter Police Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
