P. Carolyn Evans, 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 07, 2017 at Palmetto Health-Tuomey.

She was a daughter of the late Lucius K. and Dora Hodge Evans. Ms. Evans was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. Carolyn was an honorary member of the Presbyterian Women of Presbyterian Church U.S.A. She was a graduate of the former Columbia School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina-School of Nursing. She worked with home health services in Sumter, Clarendon, Lee and Kershaw Counties until her retirement. Carolyn was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt. Her family loved her dearly and her memory will be cherished by many.

Survivors include one sister, Edna E. Watford of Sumter; one brother, Ralph M. Evans (Sara) of Currie, NC; five nieces; four nephews; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam J. Johnson and a special niece, Lynn W. Bartlett.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dane Deatherage officiating. Burial will be in the Brewington Cemetery in Clarendon County.

Pallbearers will be David Jordan, Keith Jordan, Brian Evans, Gregg Watford, Billy Moore, and Mitch McElveen.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1450 Plowden Mill Road.
