Obituary for Jenkins W "J.W." Mims

Jenkins W. “J.W.” Mims, 70, husband of the late Sandra Hallman Mims, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at his home.

Born May 2, 1948, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late James B. “Jim” Mims and the late Anzie Stalvey Mims. He retired from U.S. Broach after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include three sons, Chris Mims (Tonya), Josh Mims, and Kevin Mims; seven grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Jake, Chance, Logan, Cody, and Ashley; and three sisters, Betty Porter (Bobby), Lee Strickland (Johnny), and Elizabeth Floyd (O’Neil).

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dexter Mims.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. John H. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Mims, Jake Mims, Chance Mims, Michael Brown, K.B. Stanfield, and Tony Stalvey.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
