William Walter “Bill” Wheeler, Jr., 67, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018.
Born August 3, 1951, in Sumter, he was a son of William Walter “Walt” Wheeler, Sr. and Janet Olsen Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sumter. He retired from the S.C. Forestry Commission.
Survivors include his parents of Sumter; two children, William Walter “Will” Wheeler, III (Keyes) of Bishopville and Ashleigh Newsome (Will) of Hartsville; four grandchildren, Maddie Wheeler, Jack Wheeler, Connor Newsome, and Elliott Newsome; a brother, Richard D. Wheeler (Dani) of Sumter; and a nephew, Kenton Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Suzanne Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 A.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
