Obituary for Walter E Hatcher Jr.
Walter E. Hatcher, Jr., 87, died March 19, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
Born in Brooklet, GA, he was a son of the late Walter E. Hatcher, Sr. and the late Corrine Simmons Hatcher. Mr. Hatcher was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Super Mat Laundry for more than twenty years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his son, Robert K. Hatcher of Sumter; and one sister, Martha Chisolm of Dallas, TX.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Wilma Jean Adams Hatcher.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Vaught officiating.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
