Sarah Rogers Marsh, 88, wife of Bertie Jefferson “Jeff” Marsh, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at a local nursing facility.
Born August 1, 1929, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late David Rogers and the late Bertha Galloway Rogers. Mrs. Marsh was a member of Paxville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Cleve Terrell Marsh (Kathy) of Jackson, Tenn., and Dane Jeff Marsh of Sumter; one daughter, Dana Marsh Mitchell (Jeff) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Greg Mitchell, and Jessica Kurzontkowski; three step-grandchildren, Harrison Jones, Celina Knipper, and Meleah Johnson; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, William Rogers of Manning, Everette Rogers of Dalzell, and Charles Rogers of Sumter; and one sister, Mary Richardson of Saluda.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Tomson, Dorothy Barto, and Barbara Bianco; and one brother, David Rogers.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Paxville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Paxville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Sullivan, Eddie Brown, Frankie Trepoy, Mike Tomson, Al Harris, and Greg Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Finley, Hunter Richbourg, Pete Brown, Derrick Rogers, Lee Rogers, and Michael Tomson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Paxville Baptist Church and other times at the home, 250 Keels Rd.
