Obituary for Vincent Paul "Vince" Ward

Vincent Paul “Vince” Ward, 60, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at his home.

Born November 5, 1957, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Thad Anderson Ward, Jr. and the late Lucille Madray Ward. He was formerly a co-owner of Wards Bar-B-Q.

Survivors include two daughters, Chrystal Mims (Troy) and Erin Ward all of Sumter; four grandchildren, Hayden, Lucy Hayes, Mason, and Ashton; three brothers, Charles “Bubba” Ward (Jeannie) and Mickey Ward (Anna) all of Sumter, and Buddy Ward (Renee) of Spartanburg; and a special aunt, Dianne Condrey (Jimmy) of Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Shorter, Mark Amerson, Chris Crawford, Dalton Ward, Easton Ward, and Chase Ward.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Dollard, Brian Crawford, Tripp Ward, Cody Ward, Dylan Ward Nicholas Condrey, Bubba Callahan, and Justin Ward.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
