Joseph Ralph Morris, 91, widower of Earline Owens Morris, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at a local nursing facility.

Born June 28, 1926 in Turbeville, he was a son of the late Sidney Richard Morris, Sr. and the late Josephine Holladay Morris. Mr. Morris attended Olive Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Korn Industries after more than forty years of service.

Survivors include one daughter, Rose Morris of Sumter, one son-in-law, James Lyles of Sumter; two grandsons, Jim Lyles (Susie) and Joey Lyles (Laura) both of Sumter; three great grandchildren, Courtney, Madison, and Wesley Lyles; and one brother, Richard Morris, Jr. of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lyles; and five siblings, David, Margie, Ada Belle, Faye, and Ray.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Freedom Worship Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Carl Lavender and the Rev. Brandon Chan officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Turbeville.

Pallbearers will be Joey Lyles, Carroll Cole, Jimmy Cole, Steve Morris, Jimmy Rogers, Jr. and David Springs.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son-in-law
