William J. “Billy” Green, 82, husband of Maxine Revill Green, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born in Turbeville, he was a son of the late Deckard Green and the late Lessie Mims Green. Mr. Green was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. He served nine years in the SC National Guard. He retired from CP&L after 37 years. After his retirement, he worked for many years with KMB Electrical.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years; a son, Derrick Green of Sumter; a daughter, Rhonda Pruden (Travis) of Sumter; one granddaughter, Caroline Pruden; one brother, Ronnie Green (Mary Ruth) of Turbeville; and one sister, Nancy Morris (Tommy) of New Zion.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith and the Rev. Jock Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at Alice Drive Baptist Church and other times at the home.
