Obituary for Peter E "Pete" Sladic
Peter E. Sladic, 74, husband of Renate A. Sladic, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his home.
Peter was born August 27, 1943 in Rastenburg, Gemany. He came to the United States with his mother Gertrude, and his adoptive father, Manojlo in 1950. He became an American citizen and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966. He retired from Eaton Corp. in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Renate of 48 years; two sons, Kirk M. Sladic of Sauk Village, Illinois, and Keith A. Sladic of Sumter; one daughter, Kristel M. Vippermann (Billy) of Sumter; two grandsons that were the joy of his life, Staley J. and Baxley T. Vippermann; one brother, George Sladic of Sumter; and one nephew, Nicholas Sladic of Sumter.
Peter’s earthly remains will be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service to honor his life and memory at a later date.
Elmore-cannon-Stephens Funeral home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
