Obituary for James Freddie Scott

James Freddie Scott, 61, husband of Melissa “Mitsy” Watts Scott, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of Betty Brazel Parker and the late John Parker. Freddie was a hard worker, having done construction work, truck driving and lawn care service. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Bryan Scott (Cassie), Johnathan Scott (Lexi), Shannon Scott, and Tori Friel (Mike); five grandchildren; Addison Scott, Russell Scott, Riley Scott, Baby Alayna, and Holly Friel; three brothers, Allen Parker, David Parker and Lee Wendel Parker; and two sisters, Connie Lovelace and Wanda Bond.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Karen Starr and the Rev. Steve McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will Bryan Scott, Johnathan Scott, Allen Parker, Gerald Watts, James Bond, and Bill Crandle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Howard, Mike Friel, Frankie Lovelace, Albert Gainwell, and Will Fulton.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister-in-law, Betsy Watts, 620 One Mile Road, Gable.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
