Emma Welch Player, 95, widow of Hudson Lavern Player, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at NHC Healthcare in Sumter.
Born October 22, 1922, in Turbeville, she was the daughter of the late Caleb Welch and the late Lula Welch. She was a member of Graham Baptist Church.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Kris Smith (Craig) of Lynchburg and Paige Moore of Landrum; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Allyson Moore, Michael Smith, and Caroline Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. “Jimmy” Player.
Funeral services will be held at 1P.M. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 P.M. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
