Obituary for William Richard "Ricky" Ardis

William Richard “Ricky” Ardis, 66, husband of Brenda Watford Ardis, died Saturday, September 02, 2017, at his home.

Born August 4, 1951, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Norman Edward Ardis and the late Elizabeth Davis Ardis. He was a member of Bethesda Church of God. He was formerly employed by Coburg Dairies and retired from Derst Baking. Ricky loved softball and fishing. He was a very devoted husband.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years; a brother, Norman Ardis (Margaret) of Sumter; sisters, Debbie Ardis of Sumter, Jean Ardis Logan (Michael) of Lynchburg, and Betty Ardis Dannhart of Tampa, Florida; a number of nieces and nephews; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who cared for him very much.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ardis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Al Sims and the Rev. Howard Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Brewer, Keith Allgood, Dennis Lewis, Steve Galloway, Keith Hyatt, and Robert Watford.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
