Kenneth Eugene  Clark
Kenneth Eugene Clark, 88, husband of Lucille “Lucy” Osteen Clark, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at a local nursing facility.

Born in Abilene, Kansas, he was a son of the late Paul Samuel Clark and the late Reta Woody Clark. Mr. Clark was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong farmer, raised quail for Manchester Farms, and retired from Sumter Packaging Corp. Mr. Clark enjoyed his family and friends, He loved to sing and play the harmonica, served as Music Director at Providence Baptist Church, and as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina football team.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years; five daughters, Darlene Geddings (Phillip) of Sumter, Becky McCrary (Scott) of Simpsonville, Loretta Thompson (Stacy) of Sumter, Bo Fowler (Michael) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Candy Ashba (Bob) of Summerton; 12 grandchildren, Stacy Sease (David), Melissa Spencer (Bob), Kirk Geddings (Christy), Paul Geddings, Troy Weymouth, Laura Gaines (Jason), William Gray (Barbara), Clark Gray (Ginger), Deslyn McLeod (Levi), Bailey Earl (Jeremy), Bobby Ashba, and Hannah Ashba; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Clark, Jr; a brother, Donald Clark; and a sister, Kathleen Clark Freauf.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be members the B.C. Long Sunday School Class at Alice Drive Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p, m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
