Obituary for Jamie Grayson Shirley

Jamie Grayson Shirley, 33, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home in Georgia.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of Randy Grayson Shirley and Barbara Jan Horn Lewandowski. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps., was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and recipient of the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Sheila Shirley of Charlotte; his mother and step-father, Peter Lewandowski of Sumter; four children, Jamie Shirley, Kayleigh Shirley, Marlei Timmons, and Nolie Jenkins; four sisters, Jessica Walker of Canton, Georgia, Brittany Smith (Brian) of Charlotte, Abigail Lewandowski and Taylor Lewandowski both of Sumter; four brothers, Grayson Shirley (Ashley) and Landon Shirley both of Charlotte, Derrick Woodward (Crystal) of Savannah, Georgia, and Dawson Shirley of Charlotte; paternal grandparents, Grayson and Sharon Shirley of Pineville, Kentucky; maternal grandfather, Robert Horn of Sumter; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Wedgefield Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Woodward, Andrew Squires, Jeffrey Shirley, Brad Owens, Sean Wallenta, and Jason Netherland.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday Wedgefield Baptist Church.
