Preston Downing Belote III, 75, beloved husband of the late Anna Elizabeth Christian Belote, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Old Hickory, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Preston Downing Belote II and the late Loise Cline Belote. Mr. Belote retired from the US Air Force after 23 years of service. He was a substitute teacher for several years with Sumter School District 2. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Springbank Baptist Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Preston D. Belote IV and Jamie of Sumter, and Doug Belote and Donna of Camden; one daughter, Lee Anna I. Brown and her husband Rodney of Sumter; two brothers, Will Belote and his wife Joyce of Tennessee and Casmir Belote and his wife Viola of Texas; eight grandchildren, Amber Nixon and her husband Trent, Jonathan D. Belote and his wife Kelsey, Rodney Brown, Xavier Brown, Whitney Bryant and her husband Dustin, Shannon Rader and her husband Russ, Ashleigh Ferst and TJ Carter and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Belote.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors.
