Michael Waksmouth Ducom, 55, husband of Lisa Clary Ducom, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Born in Oxnard, CA, he was a son of David O. Ducom and the late Barbara Waksmouth Ducom. He worked with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years and later transitioned to the SC Department of Corrections at the Sumter/Lee Detention Center.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Lisa Ducom; his father of Sumter; three children, Stephanie Campbell of Florence, Patrick Campbell of Sumter, and Ashley Ducom of Charlottesville, VA; four grandchildren, Knox Weatherly, Sadie Jones, Ella Shifflett, and Lorelei Shifflett; one brother, David E. Ducom of Edmond, OK; one sister, Natalie Sutton (Larry) of Sumter; two nephews, Christopher Sutton and Brian Sutton; and two nieces, Nicholette Ducom, and Michelle Ducom.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Yoder officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral home.
