Obituary for Millard E Horton

Millard E. Horton, 93, husband of Margie Florence Simpson Horton, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born April 2, 1924, in Lester, WVA, he was a son of the late Millard O. Horton and the late Neva Pearl Hawley Horton. He was a member of the Cathedral of Praise and attended First Church of God in Summerville. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He also retired from Brown Trucking.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years; three children, Michael G. Horton of Dalzell, Anna C. Horton of Lake Wales, FL, and Tracy Klecker of Seneca; grandchildren, Lori Vaughn of Walterboro, Clint Wood of Lake Wales, FL, Michael G. Horton, Jr. and Ashley R. Riddick both of Sumter, Will Whitfield, Chelsey Whitfield, and Ellery Whitfield Spaulding all of Charleston; and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will full military honors will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in the Plantation Memorial Gardens in Summerville.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
