Condolence: She was my favorite teacher at Kenmore East. She was fun, warm, caring and had a great laugh. I still remember her husky-sounding voice and her putting pencils in het hair that was in a bun. I had her at the end of the day for 10th grade English. I remember reading TKAM and the Merchant of Venice . We worked on grammar and spelling like dogs. She told us about how she thought she was an easy grader and that we should not mention that in 11th grade. She must have gotten tired of her high heels by my 6th period class as she put her bedroom slippers on most days. After my graduation, every Friday night either she or her husband would come into the Pizza Hut I worked at and order a large cheese and pepperoni pizza. She always had a coupon. I always took extra care to make those pizzas. So long Mrs. Hodge! I know God and the Saints are getting a grammar lesson and are being quizzed on Merchant of Venice quotes. I hope her angel wings go with her angel slippers.
