Emma Louise Gunter Joynes, 79, widow of Oliver John Joynes, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Palmetto Health-Tuomey.

Born October 26, 1936, in Lancing, TN, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Arnold Gunter and the late Fannie Louise Moore Gunter. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she served as a Bankruptcy Agent.

Survivors include three children, Deborah K. Morning (Roy) of SC, William David Grimes (Traci) of LA, and Vickie Mara Spadafora (Richard) of NY; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jack Flanagan of CA; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Gatlin of CA.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Arnold Gatlin; a sister, Alice Jewell Flanagan; and a grandson, Gunter Allen Bowere.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
