Obituary for Ingeborg K Lowe (Schoneberger)

Ingeborg K. Lowe, 87, wife of Lewis A. Lowe, died Monday, May 9, 2016, at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Born February 17, 1929, in Munich, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Alois Schoneberger and the late Emma Pricer Schoneberger. Inge was a loving wife and mother. She was a gifted and talented seamstress and a wonderful cook. She attended New Salem Baptist Church.

Inge was survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Lewis A. Lowe of Sumter SC; her beloved daughters, Ellen Lowe and husband Brent Do of Chantilly, VA, and Susie Whittington of Johnson City, TN; her wonderful grandson Brandon Do; her beloved Alfred Schoenberger; her beloved cousin Rudolph Genewsky'; brother-in-law Robert N Leach, Sr.; and her faithful furry companion, Buffy. Inge was also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she adored: Kenneth Whitlock of Louisville, TN; Michael Whitlock and wife Ann Whitlock of Maryville, TN; Dr. Robert Leach and partner Lee Thompson III of Atlanta; David Leach and wife Dana Leach of Monticello, GA; Horst, Gerhard, Dieter, and Elvira Yokeit of Munich, Germany; grand nieces and nephews Derek Whitlock, Kara Whitlock, Sofie Whitlock, Morgan Leach and Kelsey Leach; and one great grandniece.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kevin Massey officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Tri-County Hospice, 2560 Tahoe Dr., Sumter, SC 29150 or to the John F. Keever Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
